Are you or someone you know planning a dinner party, looking for a reason to shop, or trying to find creative ways to spice up your home? Who am I kidding? You really do not need a special reason or season to decorate your home when inspired. Can you see your space filled with fabulous and inviting colors, vintage pieces and centerpieces galore?! No matter what materials or aromatic blends of spices you use, your home can feel even more warm and inviting.
Creating Your Own Centerpieces
Creating your own fabulous centerpieces can be a little time consuming, depending on the material and occasion, but worth it in the end. First, place mini pumpkins and gourds under a cloche dome for a quick and easy fall décor.
Another idea is to take tall clear vases (any shape) and layer the bottom with autumn shades of glass marbles. Center a lovely bundle of red/green/orange/yellow and brown long stem leaves and add a few mini pumpkins or gourds to hold the leaves steady. Next, add some acorns as a middle layer and continue this look leaving 1-2 inches of space from the top. This is a very cost effective idea because most of these items are at the Dollar Store, Michaels, Target and even Hobby Lobby. Make it a family affair and get your kids and other family members involved for more fun!
Centerpieces are Versatile!
Centerpieces are not meant just for the dining room table. They can be added to an outdoor vignette, a foyer, your kitchen, bathroom and even the bedrooms. You may even have items in your home that you never pictured as a centerpiece, but that is the fun thing about being creative.
Picture this, a gravy boat, teapot or even a soup tureen filled with potpourri, flowers (fresh or plastic), fruits or some fall harvest vegetables. Got some old mason jars just sitting in your pantry? You can clean them up, put a candle (any size, any fragrance) inside and then surround the candle with a small layer of candy corn. Light the candle for a lovely, sweet smelling fragrance and a tasty treat!
