Have you ever heard of a sneakerhead? A sneakerhead is a person who obsessively collects sneakers, owns numerous pairs and knows the history of each and every pair he owns. He knows what’s about to hit the market and the must-haves to add to his vault of neon colors and shoe strings.
I, on the other hand, am not a sneakerhead. I think you would call me more of a shoe whore because I obsessively collect and horde high heel shoes, and like a sneakerhead, each one has a history all my own! I was curious about the pop culture tennis shoe rage, so I decided to investigate. I think what I discovered would put a smile on Caitlyn Jenner’s face because it did mine, from ear to ear.
BAM! They have them…high heeled NIKE’s. I decided to keep shopping, I know imagine that. I searched the top five brands of sneakers to see if they also cared enough about Caitlyn and I to give us what we need in the sneaker head world, and they did. NIKE, being the number one brand simply DID IT, with a suede cherry red classic style designed with their signature white rubber sole.
Oh yeah! Look who’s walking the catwalk, that’s right, enter at your own risk with these bad boy boots by Adidas. Not the most practical shoe but, if my husband came in and saw me in these, a slow grin would begin to spread across his face, just saying!
I thought I was having a flashback from the 80’s with these gold Reebok’s. I could envision myself doing aerobics with a Jane Fonda VHS tape, wearing a high-legged leotard and my high-top Reeboks, boy have they come a long way! Digging the gold.
I just say yummy to these iconic PUMA Clyde sneakers. Can you believe this high heel is a version of a tailor-made design worn by basketball legend, Walt “Clyde” Frazier, from the the 70’s. OMG, am I turning into a sneakerhead?!
I distinctly remember when I was 14 years old growing up in Miami, Florida, Converse tennis shoes were a must have so I begged my mother for a pair. My first pair were cobalt blue and I ROCKED them with a pair of tube socks and shorts. I have evolved since the age of 14 and think my converse style has too, so these are going in my collection, I think one in each color will do!
