➊ Let the Lights Shine Throughout Your Home

Hide a smaller lamp in a bookcase. It will add dimension to your lighting plan without overtaking a surface like a credenza or a side table.

A recent trend with some tiny St Albert homes for sale is to paint the walls white. White reflects the light and makes the walls recede, so a small space seems larger.
Interestingly, whites have undertones of blue, pink, or even green. However, we’re suggesting just white in its purest form, without any color in which it’s not stark or cold, just light and airy.

There is no better friend to a small space than a well-placed mirror. Expanding walls, amplifying light, mirrors are great ways to solve most any design dilemma.
For instance, use a large floor length mirror behind a piece of furniture in tight spaces. Or, place a mirror behind a light source. For a more decorative approach, use large, framed mirrors. All-in-all, using mirrors is one of the best and easiest ways to make a small space look bigger.

Creating the illusion of more space is all about creating a sense of openness and movement. In other words, furniture that allows light and air to flow not just over but also under and around it makes it appear to float in space. Again, think mid-century modern pieces, which are both low and leggy.
➎ Organize to Avoid Clutter
Wall-hung organizers and shelves are your new best friends. If you own something and it exists in three-dimensional space, then, store or hang it on the wall somehow.
Don’t forget to look for storage space above other things. For instance, try hanging shelves or cabinets above dressers and desks, and pot rails above sinks or countertops.
➏ Employ Multi-Use Furniture
A daybed works wonders in a small space. It can function as both sofa and bed and adds increased flexibility and functionality to a studio apartment, guest room, or living room.
There is also the option of a daybed with a trundle so you don’t have to take apart your sofa each night. Simply pull out the trundle and snuggle in for a good night’s sleep.
