Palo Samko is a true artisan who pays careful attention to the smallest details and materials that go into his work. I met Palo at this year’s Architectural Digest home design show in New York. His collection quickly caught my attention because his aesthetic was like no one else’s at the show and his passion for his design is evident in his work.

Brass hardware is a reoccurring feature in his work, he uses brass on this dining table to show the connection between the wood top and the metal industrial style legs and then surrounds that hardware with leather inlay to give it his signature look.

Organic Industrial Style from Palo Samko

While giving us a tour of his booth, Palo shares, “Clocks have always been my admiration”. He introduced us to his clock tower and explaines his design intention with this piece was to stay away from the digital. This clock tower works by manually pushing the buttons from the back; the top two rows indicate the month, while the smaller buttons indicate day.

His signature brass and leather details subtly adorn this piece as well. An admiration for clocks is the inspiration behind these unique time pieces. I think what excites us at Dig This Design the most about his work is that there is no one single “box” to place Palo Samko’s designs in. Tell us your thoughts about his collection in the comments below.
