What do you do when you have a small space and need extra storage or an extra bed in your room?  Trundle beds are an ingenious way to save space and keep things looking good.  When y0u’re done with your extra bed or drawers you just slide them underneath the bed and hidden to the eyes.

The use of drawers, extra beds, or just something fun and unconventional are just a few of the limitless inspirations available with trundle beds.

Use Your Trundle For Storage

Typically when you pull out  the drawer beneath the bed there is another bed available for a second sleeper, but there is no rule that says you can’t use that extra space for something else, like a storage drawer.

This trundle bed is unique because it has both a storage facility and a second bed.  It’s duplicity serves many purposes and affords the room tons of extra space without taking up any!

Think Outside The Box!

Think Outside The Box!

Quite literally take this pun and think outside the trundle box underneath the bed and add some design elements around it.  Depending on your space availability and imagination your options are limitless.

This trundle bed pulls out a second bed but it is creatively built into a third bed with a slide and a dresser and drawers attached making the most of a small space by layering over and over.

Stick with Traditional

There is nothing wrong with going traditional and using the trundle for it’s intended use, a bed under a bed for either a guest or a permanent member of the room.  How elaborate you prefer your design is up to you, but just because it’s traditional doesn’t mean it’s not personal!

This baseball designed trundle was obviously intended for a boys room, but the size of the bed and the design itself could just as easily been translated into a girls room with pink and unicorns!

This trundle bed takes the traditional concept and melds it with another design inspiration: a day bed.  The trundle bed is still underneath, but the day bed gives the room a much more casual experience.

This traditionally designed trundle bed is a handsome classic that also involves some contemporary design.  It implements everything about the simplicity of traditional design and it’s timeless quality perfectly.
