The holidays are fast approaching, but what if your home is still bearing spiderwebs and jack-o-lanterns from Halloween? Here are eight ways to revamp your property in time for Santa.
1. Christmas Lights
They’re classics for a reason. Buy them in fun colors; buy them in elegant neutrals. Line your roof, frame your windows or even curl them around your tree trunks if you’d like. The possibilities are endless!
2. Bows
Bright red bows can be attached to any number of household fixtures. It doesn’t even matter if they’re on your mailbox or your fireplace mantle; they’ll bring a smile to whoever sees them whether they’re indoors or outdoors.
3. Yard Fixtures
Have you ever staged a nativity scene in your front yard? Have you ever decorated your roof with prancing metal reindeer? If you haven’t yet, why not? They’re simple ways to bring a little holiday joy to your property.
4. Wreaths
Wreaths are a great way to say “welcome!” to all who knock on your door. Best of all, they’re easy to hang and even easier to take down, perfect for the busy professional who doesn’t have a lot of time to decorate.
5. Snow/Snowflakes
If you aren’t quite living in a winter wonderland, you can always artificially construct one. Defy the sun and spray your yard with fake snow and icicles! You can also hang snowflakes from shrubs and tree branches if you want something a little less effort-intensive.

There’s nothing like mistletoe hung in your doorway. It’s great for both parties and quiet evenings at home with your spouse; many Christmas babies have been conceived with the power of mistletoe.
7. Stickers
If you have kids, holiday stickers are a fun way to let them in on the decorating process. Gingerbread houses can be stuck to the windows; bells and ribbons can be fixed to tree ornaments; snowmen and reindeer can light up their own room.
8. Christmas Trees
