Open Shelves in Modern Kitchens

Open shelving in kitchens used to mean that you had an old, small kitchen and needed every inch of available space. But, now open shelves are making their way (beautifully) into large, modern kitchens.

Here are some examples of open shelving in modern kitchens to fuel your design inspiration.

Open Shelves with Rolling Screens

We love this idea of using a track to roll screens over parts of open shelving. Also – note that the lower kitchen cabinets are open as well – giving the entire wall an open feel.

Modern and Convenient Open Shelves

This kitchen is just gorgeous – and even though it is large enough for ample storage, we love the open shelves above the sink that hold the items that a family would use on a daily basis.

Combine Open Shelving and closed cabinetry

This last example combines some open shelves with closed cabinets and bright accessories. This is a great choice giving options for all kinds of storage!
