Quick fixes To Spruce Up Your Bathroom

The bathroom is one of the most used rooms in the whole house so it can easily start to suffer from frequent use. Over time, it can look a little tired and in need of a revamp. You might not necessarily have the time or the cash to spend on having the entire bathroom remodeled but there are several quick fixes you can do to get your bathroom looking fresh and modern again. Check out some of the options below to bring your bathroom up to date and ensure it looks stylish.

Mold Removal

Mold is a common problem in bathrooms because they get so damp. You should try and keep a window open as much as possible to bring fresh air into the room. It will also help to disperse the warm, damp air after someone has had a bath or shower. An extractor fan should be fitted and it should be cleaned regularly to ensure it works to its optimum ability.

If you do find yourself with a build-up of mould, you can remove it relatively easily. Wear a mask to ensure you don’t inhale any potentially harmful bacteria then use a specialist mould killer to attack the areas. Spray the affected areas then wipe away with a cloth. If you find that the mould has damaged the walls, you can then repaint them after the mould has all been removed.

Tiling

Some bathrooms have carpet in but this can cause various problems over time. While it may be relatively absorbent, it also allows water to soak through and this can cause damage to the floorboards underneath. You may want to look into an alternative flooring surface that can be wiped clean instead. If you fancy a tiled floor, check out your local tile storefor an extensive range of floor tiles that will give you almost any design you want. You will then be able to mop up any spillages as they happen, rather than worrying about the state of your floorboards.

Toilet seat

Replacing your toilet seat is a quick, easy and cost effective way to brighten up your bathroom. It may be the case that you just want a nice, clean, new one to replace yours but you may also want to change the color scheme a little and the toilet seat is an ideal item to use for some color injection.

Accessories

Changing the color scheme of your bathroom is one of the quickest and easiest ways to freshen up your bathroom. Pick a color that you want to have and then buy accessories to complement it. Purchase a soap holder in the color scheme and get some new towels that will match. A bath mat from the same range as the towels will ensure you have a uniform look throughout the room. You might also want to buy some scented candles or a toothbrush holder in a complementary color as well. Finish the look off with a new set of curtains or just wash your current ones to freshen up the room.
